Bombaysers de Lille
« So they have launched lille3000, an ambitious project that plans to lay on lavish new festivals reflecting societies and civilisations around the world every two years in Lille and Nord-Pas de Calais region until the year 3000. The first of these extravaganzas runs from this October through to January 2007. Called « Bombaysers de Lille », it is a vibrant eruption of Indian culture to light up the winter skies of Northern France. The title is a play on words, as ‘Baysers’ are kisses in French, implying that it is hoped this particular entente with India will be more spicy than cordiale. »

Taste of the east in France

The exhibits are well worth a look, if you aim to spend more than a short weekend in the city, but if time is of the essence and of course you are still keen on that bargain, head for Bombay Maximum City – an exhibition which is guaranteed to give you Mumbai in one intense hit. Situated in the Tri Postal, a former post office warehouse, the exhibition invites its visitors to « feel » the city. Traditional art sits alongside multi-media installations sculpture and even fashion to give visitors a full picture of the vibrant city. »
